CAPE GIRARDEAU, Missouri, Feb. 23, 2015 — Two finalists selected to interview for the president position at Southeast Missouri State University will visit campus this week.
Open forums with Dr. Carlos Vargas-Aburto, Ph.D., Acting President, Kutztown University, are scheduled on Monday, Feb. 23. Open forums with Dr. Benjamin Ola. Akande, Ph.D., Dean, George Herbert Walker School of Business and Technology, Webster University, are scheduled on Wednesday, Feb. 25. Open forums are scheduled for faculty from 1:30-2:20 p.m. and students, staff and public from 4-5:15 p.m. in Glenn Auditorium of Dempster Hall.

Four finalists were selected after a nationwide search and semi-finalist interviews with the Presidential Search & Screening Advisory Committee. Parker Executive Search assisted with identifying potential applicants and with the screening process.
Two candidates completed on-campus interviews last week. They are:
Margaret E. Madden, Ph.D., Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, State University of New York at Potsdam
Paul D. Plotkowski, Ph.D., Founding Dean, Padnos College of Engineering & Computing, Grand Valley State University
Candidates are meeting with the University community and answering questions at a series of meetings and open forums. Those participating in the interview process are encouraged to provide the Board of Regents with feedback on each candidate via an electronic survey, available at http://www.semo.edu/presidentialsearch. All feedback must be received by 5 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 26. The Board of Regents will review the feedback before making a final determination regarding the next president of Southeast Missouri State University.
