CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo.,
March 27, 2009 — The indoor climbing wall in the Student Recreation Center–North is closed for the next couple of weeks so maintenance can be completed on the belay system.
Upgrades to the system will be made in the coming weeks to make the wall safer and more easily usable for patrons.
“Safety is first and foremost our concern with the wall. While we know this is an inconvenience for some patrons, timing just dictated that we do the maintenance now instead of later,” stated Troy Vaughn, director of Recreation Services.
The climbing wall, used by over 1,500 patrons yearly, is located in the Student Recreation Center–North.
