This recital in song and art, which follows a woman’s life from childhood to maidenhood, womanhood and death, features music from several genres paired with slides of visual art projected throughout the performance.

“The images are used to enhance the overall effect of the art songs presented,” Shaffer said.

Composers include Charles Ives, Johann Sebastian Bach, Henri Duparc, Leonard Bernstein, Richard Strauss, Franz Schubert and Hugo Wolf.

Shaffer and Yount are both members of the Southeast music faculty. For more information, contact the Department of Music at (573) 651-2141.
