CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., April 22, 2005 — The Redhawk Concert Band at Southeast Missouri State University will present their final concert of the year at 8 p.m. May 5 in the University Center Ballroom.
This ensemble is comprised of both music majors and students majoring in other disciplines throughout the University. It is open to all students without audition and rehearses two days a week.
Among the many selections to be performed on this concert will be “Down a Country Lane,” a work by Aaron Copland and “Prelude, Siciliano, and Rondo” from the brass ensemble music of Malcolm Arnold. This ensemble will be conducted by the new Associate Director of Bands at Southeast, Dr. Robert Conger who is also responsible for directing both jazz bands, teaching instrumental music education classes and giving lessons in the low brass studio.
Admission is $7 for the public, $6 for University faculty, staff and seniors, and $5 for students. Discounts are available in advance only by calling the Performing Arts Box Office at (573) 651-2265 or by stopping by the lobby of the Rose Theatre.
