Regents Approve Capital, Maintenance and Repair Projects

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo.,

April 3, 2009 – The Southeast Missouri State University Board of Regents today approved the schedule of capital projects, and maintenance and repair projects for the University’s fiscal year 2010.

Projects include the continued renovation of the science labs in Magill Hall, which began in 2006 and are funded with student general fees. The Board also approved improvements to the River Campus parking lot on the north side of Morgan Oak, which will be funded with $453,700 from a previously awarded Housing and Urban Development (HUD) grant.

The schedule also includes several auxiliary projects that will be funded from bond proceeds approved by the Board in 2008, including fire sprinklers in residence halls, shower/laundry renovations at Group Housing and parking developments at Broadway and Pacific Streets.

The schedule of projects is based on state maintenance and repair appropriations for FY10 remaining at the FY09, FY08 and FY07 level of $1.66 million.
