The Southeast Missouri State University Board of Regents today reappointed representatives and directors to the Show Me Center Board of Managers, the Missouri Innovation Corporation (MIC) Board of Directors and the River Campus Board of Managers.
Mike Buck, director of Recreation Services at Southeast Missouri State University, was reappointed to a three-year term on the Show Me Center Board of Managers. Buck’s new term expires Dec. 1, 2020.
The Show Me Center Board of Managers is comprised of three representatives appointed by the Board of Regents and three appointed by the Cape Girardeau City Council. Appointments are staggered so only two members are appointed each year.
Buck has served two previous terms on the board. Other University representative on the board are Kathy Mangels, vice president for finance and administration, and Dr. Beth Easter, associate professor of health, human performance and recreation and director of the sport management program. City representatives on the board are Donald Kaverman, Scott Meyer and Lincoln Scott.
The Board of Regents today also reappointed members to the Missouri Innovation Corporation Board of Directors for a three-year term ending Oct. 20, 2020.
The following have been reappointed to a three-year term:
- Matt Drake, president of First State Community Bank
- Scott Meyer, city manager of the City of Cape Girardeau
- Van Robinson, chief executive officer of Citizens Electric Corporation
- Dana Thomas, owner of BOLD Marketing
The MIC Board of Directors allows for a minimum of three directors and a maximum of nine. There are currently eight members. Members are representatives of the University’s service region. Appointments are staggered into two groups to ensure a majority of the Board is not transitioning at the same time. Directors may serve on the Board for two consecutive three-year terms.
The Board of Regents also reappointed Dr. Karl Kunkel, Southeast provost, to a three-year term on the River Campus Board of Managers. Kunkel’s new term will expire Dec. 1, 2020.
The River Campus Board of Managers is comprised of three representatives appointed by the University’s Board of Regents and three appointed by the Cape Girardeau City Council. At least one of the City’s appointees must be from the hotel/motel industry.
Joining Kunkel as University representatives on the board are Rhonda Weller-Stilson, director and associate dean of the Earl and Margie Holland School of Visual and Performing Arts, and Bill Holland, vice president for University Advancement and executive director of the Southeast Missouri University Foundation. City representatives on the Board are Scott Meyer, Dennis Vollink and Victoria Rust.
