Regents Set Fees for FY2014

Board of RegentsCAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., May 11, 2013 – The Southeast Missouri State University Board of Regents today set incidental fees for the 2013-2014 academic year.

Under the approved plan, incidental fees charged to Missouri undergraduate students will increase by $3.75 per credit hour to $197.55 per credit hour. This represents a 1.7 percent increase to fees charged to all students. Incidental fees charges for lower division regional campus courses will increase by $2.50 per credit hour to $127.50 per credit hour.

Kathy Mangels, vice president for finance and administration, said Southeast’s incidental fees will remain lower than almost every comparable university in the region. Southeast’s incidental fees for fiscal 2014 will be less than the University of Missouri-Columbia’s rate of $274 per credit hour, Missouri State University’s rate of $204 per credit hour and the University of Central Missouri’s rate of $213.17 per credit hour.

Under the new incidental fee rate schedule approved today, non-resident undergraduate students will be charged an additional $7 per credit hour; Missouri graduate students will be charged an additional $5 per credit hour; and non-resident graduate students will be charged an additional $8.50 per credit hour.

The new per credit hour incidental fee rates charged will be $375.30 per credit hour for non-resident undergraduate students; $254.30 per credit hour for Missouri graduate students; and $474.30 per credit hour for non-resident graduate students.

The general student fee charged to students for FY2014 will remain at $31.20 per credit hour, and the general fee charged at the regional campuses will remain at $13.50 per credit hour.

Mangels said the University’s Budget Review Committee includes representation from Student Government. On May 3, 2013, Student Government approved a resolution endorsing the fee increase.

Based on increases approved today, total required fees per credit hour charged to students will be $228.75 for Missouri undergraduates; $406.50 for non-resident undergraduates; $285.50 for resident graduate students; $505.50 for non-resident graduate students; and $141 for lower division courses at the regional campuses.
