Regents to Consider Faculty Senate Bills

Regents-MeyerThe Southeast Missouri State University Board of Regents will consider two Faculty Senate bills when they meet at 10 a.m. Sept. 9 in the Board of Regents Room in Academic Hall.

The two bills concern policies on the role of the Faculty Senate in University governance and information technology.

The Regents also will consider approving the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) Governing Board Certification Form.

The Board will hear several reports, including resolutions honoring the 2016 OVC Champion baseball and men’s outdoor track and field teams; a presentation on Geographic Information Systems projects; an update on the President’s Task Force on Diversity Education Final Report; an update on organizational changes; and a report on contracts and Facilities Management projects.

The final item of business will be a motion to go into a closed session for appropriate considerations related to litigation; hiring, firing, disciplining or promotion of personnel; personnel records and performance ratings; and records protected from disclosure by law.

When the open session reconvenes, the Board will announce actions taken in the closed session before considering a motion to adjourn.
