CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo.,
June 17, 2009 – The Southeast Missouri State University Board of Regents will consider approval of proposed fiscal 2010 operating budgets for the University and its auxiliary units when it meets June 19.
The meeting is scheduled for 1 p.m. in the Kent Library Quiet Reading Room. The meeting will follow a Board of Regents retreat planned for 12:30-5 p.m. June 18 and 8:15 a.m.-noon June 19.
The June 19 meeting will open with consideration of a motion to go into a closed session for appropriate considerations.
When the open session reconvenes, the first item of business will be consideration of the proposed fiscal 2010 University and Auxiliary operating budgets. The Regents also will consider a capital budget request for fiscal 2011 to be submitted to the Coordinating Board for Higher Education.
The Regents will consider changing the name of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development to the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. The Board also will consider a general statement of policy regarding animals on campus.
The Regents will consider several consent items, including approving the conferring of degrees for spring and summer 2009, a new academic program – a master of arts in teacher leadership, and a resolution honoring Cindy Gannon for her service as interim director of athletics.
The Board will consider a motion to go into a closed executive session for appropriate considerations. When the open session reconvenes, the final item of business will be consideration of a motion to adjourn.
