Regents to Set Operating Budget for Fiscal 2016

Regents-Dobbins-PrivettCAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., June 17, 2015 – The Southeast Missouri State University Board of Regents will consider the University’s general operating and auxiliary budgets for fiscal 2016 when it meets at 8:30 a.m. June 19 in the Board of Regents Room in Academic Hall.

The first item of business will be consideration of a motion to go into a closed session for appropriate considerations related to litigation; hiring, firing, disciplining or promotion of personnel; preparation for negotiations with employee groups; personnel records and performance ratings; and records protected from disclosure by law.

When the open session reconvenes, the Regents will announce actions taken during the closed session. The Board also will consider a fiscal 2017 capital budget request to be submitted to the Missouri Department of Higher Education; combining the Student Recreation Center, intramurals and Student Aquatic Center fees; and the cost of parking decals to take effect in fall 2015.

The Board also will consider revised special course fees to take effect in fall 2015; a River Campus Board of Managers appointment; several Faculty Senate bills; and a new and a change in academic programs.

Report items will focus on the first phase of the Greek Housing project and the President’s Task Force on Diversity Education.

The Regents will again consider a motion to go into a closed session for appropriate considerations related to litigation; hiring, firing, disciplining or promotion of employees; personnel records and performance ratings; and records protected from disclosure by law. When the open session reconvenes, the final item of business will be consideration of a motion to adjourn.
