Registration Begins at Southeast’s Sikeston Campus in April for Fall 2012 Classes

Summer Enrollment Now Under Way

sikestonSIKESTON, Mo., March 19, 2012 – Registration for fall 2012 classes at Southeast Missouri State University-Sikeston begins in April. Summer enrollment is currently under way.

Fall priority registration begins April 2 and is done online via the Southeast portal. Priority registration dates for currently enrolled students are determined by the total number of hours completed and the student’s last name. Students may register for classes on their priority date or any day thereafter. Web registration hours are 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily

Summer registration is currently under way, and also is done online via the Southeast portal. Summer registration began in mid-February. Web registration hours are 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.

Students are urged to check with their advisor before their priority date before registering for fall or summer classes. Sikeston students should call Dr. Kim Madigan, coordinator of academic programs, at (573) 472-3210 or kmadigan@semo.edu to schedule an advising appointment.

Registration for Fall 2012 first eight-week classes will end at 9 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22. Registration for Fall 2012 full semester classes will end at 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24. Registration for Fall 2012 second eight-week classes will end at 9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17.

Four group advising and enrollment sessions for new first-time freshmen wishing to enroll at Southeast’s Sikeston campus for fall 2012 classes are being offered. Parents are welcome with their student at these sessions. Students planning to attend are asked to register in advance with Dr. Kim Madigan, coordinator of academic programs, by calling (573) 472-3210 or kmadigan@semo.edu. Group advising sessions for new first-time freshmen at Sikeston are as follows:

• Friday, April 27, 9 a.m.-noon • Friday, May 11, 9 a.m.-noon • Friday, June 8, 9 a.m.-noon • Tuesday, July 17, 6-9 p.m.

Four-year bachelor’s degree programs available at Southeast’s Sikeston campus are:

• Agribusiness (Plant & Soil Science) • Criminal Justice • Elementary Education • Early Childhood Education • General Studies • Human Environmental Studies (Child Development Option) • Interdisciplinary Studies • Middle School Education • Psychology • A.S. Dental Hygiene

Transfer students with 24 or more credit hours and returning students are required to consult with an advisor before they can register for summer or fall 2012 classes.

Registration for the Summer 2012 first four-week session will end at 9 p.m. Wednesday, May 16. Registration for the Summer 2012 first six-week session will end at 9 p.m. Friday, May 18. Registration for the Summer 2012 12-week session will end at 9 p.m. Friday, May 18. Registration for the Summer 2012 second four-week session will end at p.m. Wednesday, June 13. Registration for the Summer 2012 eight-week session will end at 9 p.m. Friday, June 15. Registration for the Summer 2012 second six-week session will end at 9 p.m. Friday, June 29. Registration for the Summer 2012 third four-week session will end at 9 p.m. Wednesday, July 11.
