SAHEC Dinner Auction Planned for Feb. 20

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo.,

Nov. 21, 2003 – The Sikeston Area Higher Education Center (SAHEC) will hold its third annual dinner auction Feb. 20 at 6:30 p.m. at the Elks Club in Sikeston, Mo.

The SAHEC dinner auction committee has been planning the fund raiser since August. The event is designed to raise need-based and merit scholarship funds for the Center, which, this year, has 1,500 enrollments, up from 305 at its opening in 1998.

Members of the dinner auction planning committee are Rick Adams, Amy Alcorn, Jan Barkett, Felecia Blanton, Rhea Boyce, Ellen Brandom, Dorothy Bruce, Judy Buck, Bob Buchanan, Nicole Cozean, Burdette DeCota, Mary Ann DeLine, Smith DeLine, Angela Gilmore, Kim Heckemeyer, Kim Hinton, Tara Hux, Jera Lincoln, Missy Marshall, Steve McPheeters, Amy Oliver, Mike Parker, Jane Ella Potashnick, Fran Robison, Roger Sherman, Phil Shoemaker, Helen Steinmetz, Chesnye Steward, Rebecca Steward, Robin Stoner, Marian “Boots” Tenkhoff, Joel Vinson, Julie Vinson, Kelly Williams and Jessica Willis.

Judy Buck, director of SAHEC, says SAHEC students can work toward several associate of applied science degrees at the Center. In addition, students can choose to begin work on a bachelor’s degree from Southeast Missouri State University.

SAHEC dinner auction tickets can be purchased for $35. Sponsorships are available for $1,000 and include 10 tickets.
