Sample a ‘Taste of Cape’ through Theatre and Dance Fund Raiser

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., April 17, 2012 — Enjoy signature items from nine Cape Girardeau restaurants by participating in the “Taste of Cape” restaurant hop, benefiting Southeast Missouri State University’s Department of Theatre and Dance April 24.

The restaurant hop, which takes places from 5 to 8 p.m., includes the following restaurants: Café Soupé, My Daddy’s Cheesecake, the Venue, PrimoVino!, The Bel Air Grill, Jimmy John’s, Andy’s Frozen Custard, Imo’s Pizza and Saffron Bistro.

Each eatery will serve its signature item, and participants can choose to go to any or all of the mentioned restaurants in the three-hour time span. Each restaurant will have its specialty items prepared for the event. Taste of Cape participants will be directed to the tables involved at the respective restaurants, and theatre and dance students will assist the patrons at each restaurant. Tickets for the hop are $10.

Dr. Kenn Stilson, interim chair of the Department of Theatre and Dance, says the restaurant hop is a great opportunity for the community to get to know the students who will be benefiting from the fund raiser.

“We think this will be a fun event for the patrons and our students involved,” he said. “The Department of Theatre and Dance is very grateful that these restaurants have agreed to become partners with us on this event. We appreciate their support of our students.”

The Theatre and Dance Society, host of the event, will use the proceeds to fund the annual Senior Showcase and the newly established Theatre and Dance Academy.
