Scholarship Deadline Dec. 15

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo.,

Dec. 5, 2003 – The deadline is nearing for students applying for merit scholarships at Southeast Missouri State University for the 2004-2005 academic year.

The deadline is Dec. 15.

Debbie Below, director of admissions and enrollment management at Southeast, says, “December 15th is the guarantee deadline for merit scholarships. The Application for Admission and Merit Scholarships must be received by this date to guarantee the scholarship. Other awards will be made after that date only as funds are available.”

Merit scholarships are awarded to incoming freshmen who have been accepted to Southeast and meet specific academic criteria. She emphasizes that Dec. 15 is the final deadline for Regents’ and Governor’s Scholarship applicants.

“These two scholarships will not be awarded after Dec. 15,” she said. Results from the December ACT will be accepted for scholarship consideration, Below said, but students must apply for admission by Dec. 15. Other merit awards, including the President’s, President’s Plus and the University Scholarship will continued to be awarded after December 15 on a first-come, first-served basis as funds are available.
