Scott City High School Student Receives FCCLA Award at Southeast Missouri State

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo.,

Feb. 7, 2008 – Amber Vinyard, a senior from Scott City High School, recently received a gold award in an FCCLA regional event at Southeast Missouri State University.

Vinyard, who was honored in the “Early Childhood” area, will advance to state competition March 30-April 1 in Columbia. Mo.

Southeast Missouri State University’s Child Enrichment Center has partnered with the Cape Girardeau Career and Technology Center Child Care Careers program to provide an opportunity for area high school students to obtain their Child Development Associate Certification (CDA). Through this program, students participate in the FCCLA organization.

The University’s Child Enrichment Center is directed by Amy Blackman.
