Shane Mizicko Faculty Recital Rescheduled for Feb. 19

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo.,

Feb. 15, 2008 – A faculty percussion recital by Dr. Shane Mizicko, assistant professor of music at Southeast Missouri State University, has been rescheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 19, in the Robert F. and Gertrude L. Shuck Music Recital Hall in the Seminary Building on Southeast Missouri State University’s River Campus.

The concert was originally scheduled for Feb. 12 but was postponed due to inclement weather in Cape Girardeau.

This recital outlines a chronological history of percussion literature through the following genres and eras: a timpani duet from 1683 Versailles, France; a fife and drum duet from the American Civil War Era; a Ragtime piece from the 1920s; an Avant-garde chamber piece from 1942; a pedagogical multiple-percussion solo and a Japanese marimba piece from 1962; American marimba solos from 1982 and 1992; a multiple-percussion duet from 1996; and a marimba duet from 2001.

Mizicko will be joined by Chris Crawford on percussion, Matt Yount on piano, Robert Fruewald on phonograph, Paul Thompson on piccolo, and members of the Southeast Percussion Ensemble.
