CAPE GIRARDEAU, Missouri, March 14, 2016 – Southeast Missouri State University has announced the winners in the National History Day in Missouri regional contest held March 11 on campus.

Students from Central Junior High School, Gideon High School, Greenville Junior High, Ste. Genevieve Middle School, Bernie High School, Bloomfield Middle School, Richland R-1 School, Clearwater Middle School, Gideon High School, Risco R-2 Schools, Clearwater High School, St. Mary Cathedral School and Greenville Junior High participated, competing for the chance to advance to the state National History Day competition at the University of Missouri-Columbia April 30.
Friday’s contest was held in the University Center, Carnahan Hall and Academic Hall Auditorium on the Southeast campus. The theme for History Day 2016 was “Exploration, Encounter Exchange in History” and students competed in junior high and senior high divisions, which each included five categories: dramatic performance, website design, documentaries, paper presentations and exhibit.
