Southeast Baroque Ensemble Reunites to Perform First Concert of the Year

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Sept. 13, 2005 — Southeast Missouri State University’s Department of Music invites the public to its first musical offering of the 2005-2006 school year with a concert by the Southeast Baroque Ensemble on Thursday, Sept. 15 at 8 p.m. in Old St. Vincent’s Church.

The Southeast Baroque Ensemble consists of Sara Edgerton on cello, Paul Thompson on flute, Gary Miller on harpsichord, and Brandon Christensen on violin. The ensemble performs on instruments which are originals or replicas of those used during the Baroque era.

The concert on Sept. 15 will showcase pieces by Telemann, C.P.E. Bach, Quantz, and Bononcini among other masters of the French, Italian, and German Baroque period.

All tickets will be $7 at the door, but students and senior citizens will receive appropriate discounts by buying tickets in advance.
