CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Nov. 14, 2011—Southeast Missouri State University emerging artists will be spotlighted at the annual Fall Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) Graduating Seniors Exhibition Nov. 28 through Dec. 9 in the River Campus Art Gallery.

The exhibition will have two parts with the first half of the exhibition running from Nov. 28 to Dec. 2.  The closing reception for this half of the exhibition will be from 5-7 p.m. Dec. 2 in the gallery.  The second half of the Fall BFA Exhibition will begin Dec. 5, and its closing reception will take place from 5-7 p.m. Dec. 9, also in the gallery.

The BFA exhibitions are a culmination of years of the students’ fine arts study.  The exhibitions show how fostering and challenging the creative process can produce successful, accomplished bodies of work.  The emerging artists showcased in the exhibits utilize a college career’s worth of accrued knowledge, artistic exploration, intensive critique and a strong focus on professional goals within one of the specialization areas: ceramics, digital arts, drawing, fibers, graphic design/illustration, painting, printmaking or sculpture.

The River Campus Art Gallery is located on the first floor of the historic Seminary Building in Room 106.

River Campus Art Gallery hours are 1-5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 1-7 p.m. on First Fridays. All gallery exhibitions, events and talks are free and open to the public. For more information, contact Gallery Coordinator Emily Booth at ebooth@semo.edu or (573) 651-2663.
