Southeast Missouri State University’s dietetic interns are promoting National Nutrition Month in March by stocking a kitchen for a local Habitat for Humanity house.
The dietetic interns will be accepting donations of food from local organizations to stock the cabinets of the kitchen. Donations may be dropped off in Scully Room 114 through April 23.
Wendie Heise, a Southeast dietetic intern, said the interns are working to inform the community about National Nutrition Month and to promote health and wellness in the community.
“The kitchen cabinets of this home will be stocked with nutritious staples for the family when they move into their new home on April 25,” Heise said.
A ceremony to dedicate the house has been tentatively scheduled for 1 p.m. April 25, weather permitting. Habitat for Humanity is a national organization that builds and provides housing to those in need.
