Southeast Enrolls Record 10,665 for Fall Term

Southeast Missouri State University has broken another enrollment record with total undergraduate and graduate student enrollment standing at 10,655 for the fall 2007 semester.

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo.,

Sept. 19, 2007 – Southeast Missouri State University has broken another enrollment record with total undergraduate and graduate student enrollment standing at 10,655 for the fall 2007 semester.

Today’s official fourth-week census report shows total enrollment up 1.8 percent from this time last fall and up from the 9,763 reported after the first full day of classes of the fall semester which began Aug. 20.

University officials say Southeast’s total enrollment has grown by 2,740 since 1994 when total fall semester enrollment was 7,925.

Today’s report shows total undergraduate student enrollment is 9,209, up 2.6 percent from this time last year. Beginning freshmen headcount is 1,805, up 18.9 percent from fall 2006 and a significant factor in the University setting another all-time enrollment high.

Total graduate student headcount is 1,456, down 2.9 percent from this time last year but up from 988 after the first full day of classes of the fall 2007 semester. University officials say graduate student enrollment at Southeast has more than doubled since 1982 when graduate student enrollment was 623 for the fall semester.
