Southeast Gateway Connection Now Available

LOC-StLouisCAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Feb. 1, 2016 — To assist students, faculty, and staff with visits, recreation, shopping and tours of the St. Louis area, Southeast Missouri State University has arranged for a tour bus to run from the main University campus to three locations in St. Louis this semester.

The trips are scheduled for five pre-determined Saturdays during this semester and will depart and return to the campus on the same day.  The first trip will be Feb. 6.  Registration forms are available in the Center for Student Involvement in the University Center Room 204 or online at http://www.semo.edu/pdf/campuslife-gateway-application.pdf.

On each trip date, the Gateway Connection bus will leave Towers Circle at 7:45 a.m. and from the University Center at 8 a.m. for the drive to St. Louis.  Students will be driven to three pre-set destinations around the city.  Those areas will typically be the Jefferson National Memorial (Arch/Old Courthouse), Forest Park (St. Louis Art Museum/Zoo) and the Galleria Mall.  In the early afternoon, the bus will return to those locations to take students to the other drop-off locations if they choose.  Final pick-ups for the day at the same three locations will occur between 6 and 7 p.m. for an arrival back in Cape Girardeau by 9 p.m.

Guests of current students, faculty, and staff are permitted to participate.  The round trip cost for students, faculty, staff and their guests is $20 per person.  If anyone needs a one-way trip in either direction, the cost will be $10.  The charge will be assessed to University accounts.  This charge is only for the transportation; all other admission/ticket costs while in St. Louis are in addition to that.  Activities while in St. Louis are at the guests’ own discretion and do not have to occur as a group.
