Southeast Graduate Assistants Receive Excellence Award

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., April 13, 2006ᾰJason Butler of Doniphan, Mo., and Yifeng Ren of Cape Girardeau, graduate students at Southeast Missouri State University, were recently honored with Graduate Council Excellence Awards.

Butler, a teaching assistant in the Department of Nursing, received the Graduate Council Excellence in Teaching Award.  This award is given on an annual basis to a graduate assistant who exemplifies the characteristics associated with high quality teaching.  Butler, who is pursuing a master of science in nursing degree, will receive a certificate of merit and a check in the amount of $500.

Ren received the Graduate Council Excellence in Research Award for her research in the Department of Industrial and Engineering Technology.  This award is given on an annual basis to a graduate student whose research project is deemed meritorious.  Ren, who is pursuing a master of science in industrial management degree, will receive a certificate of merit and a check in the amount of $500.
