Southeast Hosting Open House for Prospective Theatre and Dance Students

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Nov. 11, 2005 — High School students who are considering pursuing study in theatre and dance are invited and encouraged to attend an open house Nov. 19 sponsored by the Department of Theatre and Dance at Southeast Missouri State University.

Beginning at 1 p.m. and ending at 9:30 p.m., the third annual open house will include master classes in dance, acting, voice and technology; scholarship and audition information; question and answer sessions with faculty and students; a campus tour; free dinner with faculty and students; and free admission to the department’s Fall Dance Concert.  The annual open house has been a very effective tool for the University and prospective students to get to know each other and has served to increase enrollment and ensure that students who choose Southeast are comfortable as incoming freshmen.

The open house for prospective students is free. Students and parents planning to attend are asked to RSVP by calling (573) 651-2149.
