CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., June 11, 2006 — The Southeast Missouri Symphony Orchestra will present “Symphony Preview III” at 3 p.m. on Sunday, July 23, in Rose Theatre on the campus of Southeast Missouri State University.

This annual event will feature the Southeast Missouri Chamber Orchestra in a short program of music, conducted by Dr. Sara Edgerton of the Department of Music.  The concert will include excerpts of music from the 2006-2007 Symphony Concert Series, as well as some additional light classical music.

Information about the 2006-2007 Symphony Concert Series also will be available, and the box office will be open before and after the concert for any patrons wishing to purchase subscription series tickets to the symphony orchestra concerts.

“I am very excited about the 2006-2007 symphony season,” said Edgerton, director of the orchestra. “There will be some great favorites on our programs, such as the “Many Moods of Christmas” by William Bennett, as well as some fantastic soloists.  I am especially excited about our opening concert in October, featuring Grammy Award-winning flutist, Rhonda Larson.  We invite the public to attend the July 23 program, hear some samples of music from our upcoming season, and find out more about the Southeast Missouri Symphony Orchestra.”

The Symphony Preview III program is free and the public is invited to attend this program.  For more information, contact the Performing Arts Box Office at (573) 651-2265.
