Southeast Missouri Symphony Orchestra to Present Symphony Sampler

The Southeast Missouri Symphony Orchestra opens its 2007-2008 season with a free “Symphony Sampler” in the Shuck Recital Hall at River Campus.

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo.,

Sept. 17, 2007 – The Southeast Missouri Symphony Orchestra opens its 2007-2008 season with a free “Symphony Sampler” in the Shuck Recital Hall at River Campus. This short program will be presented at 2 p.m. and again at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 30.

The “Symphony Sampler” will provide a brief, informative and entertaining preview of the upcoming season of symphony orchestra concerts. The program will include short selections from several of the works to be featured in the 2007-2008 Symphony Series, including pieces by such noted composers as Haydn and Saint-Saens. 

This concert is free and open to the University and community. Families visiting Southeast Missouri State University for Family Weekend are also invited to attend either of the two performances on Sunday.

Information about the upcoming season will be available at the “Symphony Sampler.” The River Campus Box Office will be open from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sept. 30 for the convenience of any patrons wishing to purchase individual or season tickets for the upcoming symphony series.
