CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo.,

Oct. 2, 2008 – The Southeast Missouri Music Academy at Southeast Missouri State University is offering two adult piano classes Oct. 13 through Dec. 1.

The eight-week classes will meet on Monday evenings. “Piano in a Flash” will take place from 6:15-7:15 p.m. and Adult Piano III will run from 7:30-8:30 p.m.

The popular “Piano in a Flash” is for beginners or those wishing to brush up on beginning skills learned in the past.  Instruction will begin at “square one” and is taught in a light, relaxed atmosphere.  Skills covered include note and rhythm identification, proper hand position, basic chord structure and ensemble playing.    Adult Piano III is for students who have completed Adult Piano I and II or for students who have had some prior piano study.

Both classes will be held in the electronic piano lab in the Seminary Building at Southeast Missouri State University’s River Campus.  Students must be at least 18 years of age and have access to a piano on a daily basis.  Participants may bring a friend.
