Southeast Online Programs Included in Three Affordable Online Degrees Subject Guides

brandtCAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Jan. 2, 2014 – Several online degree programs at Southeast Missouri State University are now featured in three “Affordable Online Degrees” subject guides.

Southeast’s online programs featured are the alternative certification program, Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in criminal justice, the Bachelor of Science in computer information systems and the Master of Science in technology management.

Affordable Online Degrees subject guides are a “buyer’s guide” for online degrees in a range of popular academic subjects. The goal of the subject guides is to make students aware of specific degree programs at specific schools that are affordable, online, highly respected and worth their time to investigate. Institutions featured are both public and private. Affordable Online Degrees offers subject guides for programs in accounting and finance, computer science, economics, education, engineering, health administration, marketing, math and public administration.

Southeast Alternative Certification program is among eleven colleges and universities whose online education programs are highlighted in the online education subject guide. Southeast’s online Bachelor of Science in computer information systems and the Master of Science in technology management are among 19 colleges and universities whose online computer science programs are featured in the online computer science degrees subject guide. Southeast’s online Bachelor of Science and Master of Science programs in criminal justice are among 23 institutions whose online criminal justice degree programs are noted in the online criminal justice degree subject guide.

Southeast’s online alternative certification program assists prospective teachers in obtaining certification to teach in Missouri school districts. Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in the subject area to be taught or a closely related field, as well as have a valid offer of a teaching contract from a Missouri public or private school.

Students in Southeast’s online Bachelor of Science in criminal justice study social science with a concentration in criminal justice for a broad understanding of the role and application of criminal justice in today’s society. Southeast’s online Master of Science in criminal justice is a cooperative program offered jointly with Missouri Southern State University. Courses focus on the practical application of assessing programs and policies, conducting evaluative research and understanding complex legal issues relevant to the field of criminal justice. This degree is best suited to people currently working in the criminal justice field.
