Southeast Percussion Ensemble to Perform April 11

The Southeast Missouri State University Percussion Ensemble will perform a concert at 8 p.m. April 11 in Academic Auditorium.

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., March 27, 2006 –The Southeast Missouri State University Percussion Ensemble, under the direction of new faculty Shane Mizicko, will perform a concert at 8 p.m. April 11 in Academic Auditorium.

This very special concert will feature Shane Mizicko as Marimba soloist and also feature guest artists, the Cape Central Junior High School Percussion Ensemble, as well as the Cape Central Percussion group, “Shere Khan.”

Featured pieces on the program will include “Vertigo” by Andy Harnsberger, “The Nordic Light” by Anders Astrand, “Carpe Diem” by Susan Powell, “Common Times” by Ray Flores, “Prelude for Percussion” by Malloy Miller and “What?” by Dale Rauschenberg.

The Southeast Percussion Ensemble concerts are exciting and dynamic shows for fans of any musical genre, not just fans of typical, “classical” music.
