Jim Sifferman, of the Southeast Missouri State University Department of Music faculty, will present a solo piano recital Feb. 20.
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Feb. 5, 2007 — Jim Sifferman, of the Southeast Missouri State University Department of Music faculty, will present a solo piano recital at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 20 in Academic Auditorium.
Works by Bach, Mozart, Ravel, Chopin and Liszt will be featured on the program, which will certainly be an exciting experience for piano fanatics and lovers of classical music.
Sifferman holds degrees from the University of Washington (Phi Beta Kappa), The Juilliard School, and The University of Texas at Austin. He has studied with such celebrated teachers as Bela Siki, Ania Dorfmann, John Perry, and Gregory Allen. Sifferman has been a winner in a number of important competitions including the Pittsburgh Three Rivers competition and the National Beethoven Sonata competition in Memphis. He has performed extensively throughout the United States, as well as in Canada, Mexico, Europe and the Far East, and has appeared as concerto soloist with numerous orchestras. He has toured on the Columbia Artists Community Concert Series, and, in 1992, he performed in recital on the legendary Horowitz Steinway.

Tickets also will be available at the door the night of the performance, but no student, senior or group rates will be offered on the evening of the performance.
