CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., June 30, 2006 — Southeast Public Radio recently announced the hiring of a new development director when Amanda Lincoln was named to the position on June 29.

Lincoln is a 2001 graduate of Southeast Missouri State University. She comes to Southeast Public Radio from the American Red Cross, Southeast Missouri Chapter, where she served as the development specialist for the past five years.

“We are all very excited to have Amanda join the Southeast Public Radio team,” says General Manager Dan Woods. “Amanda brings a wealth of non-profit fund-raising experience from her successful years at the Red Cross, and we are excited about the new ideas and energy she will bring to Southeast Public Radio.”

As development director, Lincoln will oversee all fund-raising activities conducted by the radio station. She will work to generate financial support used to operate Southeast Public Radio through both corporate underwriting and listener contributions. Lincoln will work with station staff and community volunteers to develop new fund-raising ideas for Southeast Public Radio.

“I am honored to join Southeast Public Radio and to serve in this capacity. There is a great team in place, and I look forward to working with the staff, volunteers and supporters to further the goals of Southeast Public Radio,” Lincoln said.

Lincoln recently completed the successful “Heroes for the American Red Cross Campaign,” which raised more than $40,000 for the Southeast Missouri Chapter. She also celebrated the successful completion of the disaster relief fund campaign to aid victims of tornadoes that struck the region during this past spring.

“Public radio plays an important role in our community,” says Lincoln. “Our generous community has already shown their support for the station, and with the recent expansion into the Farmington area, it is more important than ever to continue building relationships that further the mission of Southeast Public Radio.”

Southeast Public Radio is an affiliate of both Public Radio International and American Public Media. Southeast Public Radio is celebrating 15 years as a National Public Radio member station. The station is located on the campus of Southeast Missouri State University. More information can found at http://www.southeastpublicradio.org.
