Southeast Public Radio Hosting Open House Oct. 19

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Oct. 12, 2007 — Southeast Public Radio invites the public to an open house and celebration Oct. 19 at its studios when it will recognize area broadcasters being honored at Southeast Missouri State University during Homecoming 2007: Dare to Dream.

The open house is scheduled for 9 to 11 a.m. in the Southeast Public Radio Studios at 338 N. Henderson.

Those being honored are Barbara Herbert, music programmer with KRCU, Southeast Public Radio, and host of the station’s “Sunday Night at the Opera” program; Don McNeely, retired news anchor and meteorologist for KFVS12; and Russell Withers, owner of Withers Broadcasting Companies. Herbert and McNeely will be receiving the Distinguished Service Award, and Withers will be the recipient of an Alumni Merit Award during Southeast Homecoming festivities.

The public is invited to enjoy a cup of coffee, tour the studios and meet the staff and guests of honor.
