Southeast Public Radio to Present Chocolate Tasting

Listeners and members of Southeast Public Radio are invited to sip champagne while sampling and rating chocolates from around the world.

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Aug. 3, 2006 — Southeast Public Radio has announced plans to present a benefit chocolate tasting.

Susie’s Bakery and Restaurant in downtown Sikeston, Mo., will serve as the location for this event at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 9.

Listeners and members of Southeast Public Radio are invited to sip champagne while sampling and rating chocolates from around the world. Dr. Tom Harte, host of the popular local program, “Caffé Concerto,” will lead participants in the tasting and provide information about the various chocolates being featured. Afterwards, guests will enjoy a champagne and chocolate buffet featuring a like number of desserts prepared by Susie Kennedy, owner of Susie’s Bakery & Restaurant.

“This is Southeast Public Radio’s second chocolate tasting and we are excited about offering this event in Sikeston,” says General Manager, Dan Woods. “We expect this to be a lot of fun and unique, plus there will be chocolate…lots of delicious chocolate!”

Tickets are $40 per person and are limited to the first 70 people to make reservations by calling the station. Proceeds from this event will benefit Southeast Public Radio, which relies on  individual and corporate support for funding. Arrays of giving opportunities are available to support the station.
