Southeast Releases Fourth-Week Census

Southeast Missouri State University released its fourth week census report today, showing total combined undergraduate and graduate student headcount down slightly from last year, while full-time equivalency (FTE) is up from spring 2003.

Today’s report shows combined undergraduate and graduate full-time equivalency at 6,849, up 33 or .5 percent from this time last year. Total undergraduate full-time equivalency is up as well, with that figure at 6,393, up 1 percent from this time a year ago. University officials say growing FTE figures indicate the institution has more full-time and fewer part-time students this spring.

Total combined undergraduate and graduate student headcount stands at 8,894, down from 8,993 at this time a year ago.

Total undergraduate student headcount stands at 7,809, up 10 or .1 percent from a year ago.

Fourth week admissions reports also show beginning freshmen headcount at 118, down 6.3 percent from spring 2003. Continuing freshmen headcount is 1,563, down 5.4 percent from this time a year ago. Sophomore headcount is 1,523, down 6.6 percent from spring 2003. Junior headcount is 1,709, up 8.6 percent from this time last year. Senior headcount is 2,189, up 4.2 percent from spring 2003.

Total graduate student headcount stands at 1,085, down 9.1 percent from this time a year ago.
