Southeast Releases Statement on Women’s Basketball Program

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Feb. 10, 2006 – Southeast Missouri State University has received information about potential violations of NCAA regulations in its women’s basketball program. In order to ensure than an independent and impartial inquiry is undertaken, Southeast Missouri State University President, Dr. Ken Dobbins, has requested that the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) investigate the issues raised. Southeast Missouri State University is committed to operating an athletic program in conformance with NCAA, OVC and institutional policies and regulations. No decisions have been made regarding the length or nature of the inquiry. The University will not release any additional information until it receives the results of the inquiry from the conference office. The NCAA has been notified, and a report will be provided to the NCAA when the investigation is concluded.
