CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Oct. 10, 2015 – Southeast Serves and Campus Life and Events at Southeast Missouri State University will hold a “Crafting for the Safe House” event for all Southeast students and the community at 3 p.m. today, Saturday, Oct. 10, at Catapult Creative House, 612 S. Broadway in Cape Girardeau.
At the event, students will have the opportunity to make fleece hats to be donated to the women and children at the Safe House for Women of Cape Girardeau. Catapult will supply the sewing machines. Non- sewing options will be available for those without sewing experience.
Prior to the event, Executive Director of the Safe House Jessica Hill will give a presentation about the Safe House and what it does to help women in the community. She hopes the event helps students get a better understanding of the needs of those at the Safe House. About 60-70 hats will be produced.
