CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., June 27, 2012 — The Student Aquatic Center at Southeast Missouri State University is sponsoring a “Beat the Heat” Weekend on Saturday, June 30, and Sunday, July 1, for the Cape Girardeau and area communities.

Come take advantage of an indoor pool and facility (featuring a climbing wall, zipline, rope swing and other amenities), and stay out the 100-plus degree heat and sun.

“The Student Aquatic Center is a great alternative to being outside in the heat of the day,” said Troy Vaughn, director of Recreation Services. “Kids and families are always welcome.”

The cost is $5 per person and hours are 1 to 5 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday. The Student Aquatic Center is located next to the Show Me Center on the Southeast campus. All normal pool rules apply including regular swimming trunks (no cut-offs). For more information about the SAQ or memberships, contact the Department of Recreation Services at (573) 651-2105 or visit www.semo.edu/recservices.
