Southeast Studio Jazz Ensemble to Perform at ‘City Of Roses’ Music Festival Sept. 23

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Sept. 13, 2005 –The Southeast Missouri Studio Jazz Ensemble will perform in concert at Cape Girardeau’s City of Roses Music Festival at 8 p.m. Sept. 23 on the Themis stage. 

This jazz concert will feature Southeast’s premier jazz ensemble, Studio Jazz and will feature compositions made famous by the Count Basie orchestra as well as by the Duke Ellington orchestra.  Featured soloists will include Adam Carver, (senior music education major) on tenor saxophone; Michael Harrer, (sophomore music education major) on alto saxophone; Jay Peters (sophomore music education major) on trombone and Vincent Rapini (senior music education major) on trombone, among others.

The Studio Jazz Ensemble  is directed by the associate director of bands at Southeast, Dr. Robert Conger.
