Southeast Wind Symphony, Concert Band to Perform Concert March 16

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Feb. 27, 2006 — Southeast Missouri State University’s Wind Symphony, conducted by Barry Bernhardt, is teaming up with the Concert Band, conducted by Robert Conger, for a concert at 8 p.m. March 16 in Academic Auditorium.

The program will include some of the following selections:  “Early Light” by Carolyn Bremer, “The Gumsuckers’ March” and “Blithe Bells” by Percy Grainger and “The Stars and Stripes Forever” by John Philip Sousa.

Also featured on this concert will be the world premier of the piece “Youthful Indiscretions” by Robert Fruehwald, performed by Fruehwald with Robert Conger on trombone  and percussion by Shane Mizicko.

Tickets are available through the Performing Arts Box Office by calling (573) 651-2265 or by stopping by the lobby of the Rose Theatre.  Discounts for senior citizens and students are available in advance only, and all tickets will be $7 the night of the concert, at the door.
