The Southeast Wind Symphony, Wind Ensemble and Chamber Winds will present their second concert of the Fall 2006 Season at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 30 in Academic Auditorium.

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Nov. 15, 2006 –The Southeast Wind Symphony, Wind Ensemble and Chamber Winds will present their second concert of the Fall 2006 Season celebrating the “New Music for Wind Band” when they take the stage at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 30 in Academic Auditorium.

Among the pieces included on this concert, the Southeast Wind Symphony will perform “Tempered Steel” by Charles Rochester Young. The Southeast Chamber Winds will play the world premier of “Concert Piece for Solo Winds & Marimba” for solo winds and marimba by Kansas Composer William Funk; and “Impulse Engine” by Carolyn Bremmer will be performed by the Southeast Wind Ensemble and conducted by student conductor Ryan Bollinger. 

The Southeast Wind Symphony, Wind Ensemble and Chamber Winds are the premier wind and percussion ensembles on campus. These ensembles perform the highest level of wind literature, including standard wind band and contemporary literature.
