Southeast’s Online Master’s in Management Ranked No. 3 by Value Colleges

online management and marketingCAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Aug. 14, 2015 – Southeast Missouri State University’s online Master of Science in management is ranked No. 3 among the “Top 50 Best Value Online Master’s in Management Programs 2015” by Value Colleges.

Southeast is the highest ranking Missouri institution and the only public institution in Missouri on the list.

Southeast’s online Master of Science in management allows people to continue to work while providing an opportunity to improve skills and learn new ideas to implement in the workplace. Not only does the program offer flexibility, but regardless of residency, all Southeast students pay in-state tuition rates.

“First, our Master of Science in management program is AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) accredited, meaning it meets the high standards of the premier business accreditation in our country. Second, the courses are taught by full-time faculty. They teach both face-to-face and online courses, thus the expectations by faculty of students using the different delivery formats is rigorous and consistent,” said Director of Graduate Business Programs Dr. Kenneth Heischmidt. “Graduates of our program can expect to be well versed in their training related to management practices and procedures.”

According to Value Colleges, a master’s degree in management is a relatively new degree offering. It allows students who do not have a bachelor’s degree in business to gain a degree to help them move toward a position in management. Unlike an MBA, a master’s in management places more emphasis on management, leadership, organization and social skills rather than economics, statistics and math.

Value Colleges ranks institutions beginning with accredited colleges and universities offering online management degrees and then considering Payscale’s 2015 College ROI Report, U.S. News & World Report rankings of online programs and per credit hour tuition rates.

These criteria help Value Colleges determine the schools offering students the best ratio between affordability, reputation and return on investment, thus providing them with a sound value.
