SR Education Group Ranks Southeast’s Online Bachelor’s Programs in Nursing, Healthcare Management, Technology Management Among Top in Nation

Southeast Missouri State University’s online undergraduate programs in management and nursing have been recognized among the 2018 Top Online College rankings by SR Education Group.

Southeast’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) was ranked among the top 25 of its 2018 Top Online Colleges for Bachelor’s in Nursing. In addition, Southeast’s Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management and Bachelor of Science in Technology Management were ranked seventh on its 2018 Top Online Colleges for Bachelor’s in Management.

SR Education Group developed the rankings based on value. SR Education Group researched and analyzed accredited online schools across the nation, taking into consideration academic strength factors as well as annual tuition rates to provide a list of colleges offering the best value to students. Inclusion on this list shows high academic standards and a commitment to affordability, two key factors important to prospective students.

A driving force behind the programs’ successes are their affordability and flexibility for working professionals and part-time students, said Chelsea Caile, director of Southeast Online Programs.

“They pay one tuition rate, regardless of in-state or out-of-state status, and earn a degree on their own schedule,” Caile said. “They also can receive course credit or competency credit for previous education and professional experiences. We’re proud that SR Education ranks this program among its best.”

Dr. Gloria Green, chair of Southeast’s Department of Nursing, added, “We are honored to be recognized for our dedication to provide online students quality, accredited educational experiences. I am extremely proud of our faculty and staff who work tirelessly to make this program so successful.”

Southeast’s online RN-BSN program offers a six-course nursing curriculum for Registered Nurses (RNs) desiring a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). The program offers RNs the opportunity to earn a higher degree to be better prepared professionals capable of meeting the challenges of today’s constantly changing healthcare industry, gaining more marketability, and increasing advancement opportunities.

The healthcare management program prepares students for a variety of administrative opportunities in the healthcare industry. It is targeted towards practitioners who desire to move up in clinical management or out of direct patient care into a support role. For practitioners with an existing associate’s degree, this degree can be earned in approximately 72 credit hours.

“This is a recognition of the hard work of the University’s healthcare management faculty in the classroom, in advising, and in curriculum innovation,” said Dr. Kevin Dickson, interim chair of Southeast’s Department of Management and Marketing. “We are grateful that our program can meet the needs of many in our healthcare community now and in the future.”

The Technology Management option is accredited by the Association of Technology, Management, and Applied Engineering (ATMAE), and is specifically designed for students who have earned technically-oriented accredited Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degrees and for those with national certifications or exams and two years of directly related work experience. With this degree students learn the fundamental concepts required to be a professional in the field, including concepts in mathematics, physical sciences, technology and management. Construction, electrical systems, mechanical systems, manufacturing, networking, facilities and computer graphics are a few areas in which students may gain specialized knowledge.

“The faculty and staff have dedicated a lot of hard work and effort into these programs over the years and it’s exciting to be recognized,” said Dr. Brad Deken, chair of Southeast’s Department of Polytechnic Studies. “Our goal for the program is to train students for good jobs and career advancement, while recognizing the education they have earned at other institutions or through lifelong learning.”

SR Education Group, an education research publisher founded in 2004, creates and maintains websites aimed at connecting students with the resources necessary to complete their education – from learning about what degree programs are available to connecting with schools offering those programs and learning how other students review those schools. They award monthly scholarships to students in need and work to provide as much support and information as possible so that online education is attainable to anyone who wants it.
