St. Francois County Alumni, Friends Invited to Support Hometown Students at Oct. 25 Game

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Oct. 10, 2003 — Alumni and friends from St. Francois County are invited to support hometown students and experience the excitement of Southeast football at 6 p.m. Oct. 25 as Southeast takes on Murray State University.

John Poston ‘74, chair of the St. Francois County alumni chapter, said that alumni will be able to see a number familiar faces on the field, including football players, spirit dancers and even the North St. Francois County R-I High School Band.

“With so many local connections to Southeast athletics, there is no better way to share alumni pride and support Southeast than by gathering a group together to cheer on the team,” Poston said.

The Southeast football team includes players Reggie Aubuchon, Adam Jones and Jeremy McDowell, all graduates of North St. Francois County R-I.  Southeast spirit groups also include North County graduates Ashley Gremminger, a Southeast Sundancer, and Melissa Stegall, a member of the Southeast Color Guard.

The North St. Francois County R-I High School Marching Band will perform with the Southeast Missouri State University Golden Eagles Marching Band during the pre-game show. The North St. Francois County R-I High School Marching Band has been chosen to perform in the parade commemorating the dedication of the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C. next May and will be the only band representing the state of Missouri.

Football tickets can be purchased for $6 each at the Desloge branch of Bank Star of the Lead Belt, Bob Blankenship Farmers Insurance in Park Hills, and Kevin Pearce Insurance in Bonne Terre.
