CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Feb. 14, 2012 – St. Louis native Becky Grass will be exhibiting her textile art Feb. 27 to March 20 in the Southeast Missouri State University River Campus Art Gallery.
The opening reception of the exhibit will be from 5-7 p.m. March 2 in the gallery. The artist will speak about her artwork at noon on March 21 in the John and Betty Glenn Convocation Center.
As a fiber artist, Grass specializes in creating hand-woven, hand-dyed fabrics. Her passion for textiles spreads into the realms of felt-making, surface design, bookbinding and sewing. She chooses the medium of cloth for her creative explorations both because of its traditions in history and its relevance as a tactile part of everyday life.
The River Campus Art Gallery is located on the first floor of the historic Seminary Building in Room 106.
River Campus Art Gallery hours are 1-5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 1-7 p.m. on First Fridays. All gallery exhibitions, events and talks are free and open to the public. For more information, contact Gallery Coordinator Emily Booth at firstname.lastname@example.org or (573) 651-2663.
