CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Sept. 22, 2011 — Students in Southeast Missouri State University’s Department of Theatre and Dance will hold a staged reading of “The Emperor Jones” at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 8 in the Wendy Kurka Rust Flexible Theatre at the University’s River Campus.

The reading is student directed by Ashley Booker of Jackson, Mo. The reading is free, but donations will be accepted.

“I am excited to be directing one of Eugene O’Neill’s experimental expressionistic plays,” Booker said. “It will be entertaining for the audience and all involved, with intrigue, rebellion, realism and irony.”
