Visual art students at Southeast Missouri State University will display their collaborative exhibition, “Student Showcase: Expressions of Us,” on the First Friday of the month, Dec. 1, at Catapult Creative House.
The reception is scheduled for 5-9 p.m. in the Catapult Creative House Gallery. Visitors are welcome to tour the entire Catapult facilities, including the Southeast Missouri State University Department of Art students’ studios located upstairs.
A special artist talk will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, in the Catapult classroom. The featured artists will discuss their work and share their inspirations.
Students from a variety of visual art studies have come together to show their most recent expressions of themselves. This show is curated and organized by students studying practices in professionalism related to their future in art. Mediums include graphic design, printmaking, ceramics, sculpture and painting.
Students featured in the collaborative show include: Candace Taylor, Ellen Hones, Scott Stuhldreher, Rigel Alipala, Samantha Faye Allen, Mitchell Dill, Deanna Hoffman, Cody McKenna, Cassadie Krigbaum, Jessica Lambert, Emily Holke, Cherie Markham and Marqusha Oliver.
Markham says the exhibition demonstrates “truly unique examples of student craftsmanship.”
