Studio Jazz Playing Feb. 2 at Buckner’s

Studio Jazz, Southeast Missouri State University’s premier jazz ensemble, will perform at Buckner’s Brewpub on Friday, Feb. 2.

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Jan. 22, 2007— Studio Jazz, Southeast Missouri State University’s premier jazz ensemble, will perform at Buckner’s Brewpub from 8 to 11 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 2.

Admission is free.

Studio Jazz will include in their performance a series of classic big band arrangements made famous by jazz artists such as Glenn Miller, Count Basie and Tommy Dorsey. Also featured will be compositions by Dizzy Gillespie, Buddy Rich, Gordon Goodwin and Victor Lopez.  Included in the program will be “Big Swing Face,” a Buddy Rich classic, and “I Snore, You Drive” by Miami jazz composer Victor Lopez.

Also featured in this performance will be the Southeast student jazz combo, including Zach Priester (guitar), Jarred Harris (bass) and Jon Hellwig (drums).
