Summer Swim Lessons Being Offered in New Student Aquatic Center

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo.,

June 2, 2008 – Youth and Parent & Child swim lessons are being offered this summer in the new Student Aquatic Center at Southeast Missouri State University.

Parent & Child Swim Lessons are for infants, toddlers, and young children (ages six months and up who are not quite ready to take a class without parental involvement).  The basic foundation for learning to swim is formed in these classes.  This class is ideal for those new to the water or those with very little water “experience.” Youth Swim Lessons are for children (under 14 years of age) who are comfortable in the water without parents or guardians. This program offers swimming instruction with classes taught by the Student Aquatic Center staff and is kept small to ensure low student-to-teacher ratios.

Both classes run for five weeks and are held on Saturday mornings. Registration is at the Student Recreation Center–North main office. The registration deadline is Friday, June 6, at 4 p.m. in the Student Recreation Center-North main office.

Summer Session Dates are

June 7, 14, 21 and 28 and July 12.Parent & Child Swim Lessons are from 9 to 9:45 a.m. on Saturdays, and Youth Swim Lessons are from 10 a.m.–11 a.m.
