Swimming Lessons Begin Feb. 3 in New Student Aquatic Center

The Department of Recreation Services at Southeast Missouri State University will begin offering swimming lessons Feb. 3 in the new Student Aquatic Center.

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo.,

Jan. 29, 2008 – The Department of Recreation Services at Southeast Missouri State University will begin offering swimming lessons Feb. 3 in the new Student Aquatic Center.

Parent/Child, Youth and Adult swim lessons are being offered. Parent/Child Swim Lessons are designed for children ages six months and older who require parental involvement. Parents must be in the water with the child during these lessons. Youth Swim Lessons are designed to improve swimming skills for older children. Adult Swim Lessons are designed for adults to work one on one with experienced instructors to learn or refine swimming skills at times that work around the patrons’ schedule.

Pre-registration is required for all lessons. Those interested in the lessons are urged to register soon as time is running low.

Lesson times for Parent/Child and Youth lessons are Saturday mornings from 9:45 to 10:30 a.m. and 11 to 11:45 a.m. Sessions run each Saturday for five consecutive weeks. Prices are $40 for members/students, and $50 for non-members. Lessons are taught by experienced Southeast students in a very safe environment. Adult prices have many options.
