Aug. 9, 2011 – The Department of Theatre and Dance at Southeast Missouri State University will hold an open house Aug. 22 for theatre and dance students and faculty. The event is scheduled for 6 p.m. in the Wendy Kurka Rust Flexible Theatre at Southeast’s River Campus. This will be an opportunity for theatre and dance students and faculty to meet and greet one another while enjoying refreshments. Students will learn about the year’s upcoming events and auditions. The event is open to all students majoring or minoring in theatre and dance as well as those interested in theatre and dance. “This is a great opportunity to learn about the department, get involved and meet new people,” said Dr. Kenn Stilson, interim chair of the Department of Theatre and Dance. During the open house, new theatre and dance students will be paired with mentors, and new students will learn about the auditioning process for Southeast productions. The open house is sponsored by the Department of Theatre and Dance in conjunction with the University Players and the Office of Student Transitions.
